Alfred Stieglitz was an American photographer and champion of modern art. He was a key figure in elevating photography to the status of fine art. Stieglitz founded galleries promoting innovative art, published the journal "Camera Work", and mentored artists like Georgia O'Keeffe, whom he later married.
