Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter and a prominent member of the Vienna Secession movement. He was known for his oil paintings, murals, and sketches, often featuring women with eroticism and symbolism. Influenced by Japanese art, he used gold leaf and other decorative patterns in his works.
Klimt was born in Vienna and studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts. His early work was classical, but he later developed a unique style. "The Kiss," "The Danaë," and "The Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I" are some of his famous works.
Klimt was a successful artist during his lifetime and died in Vienna in 1918. His work is still widely admired today.
