Jackson Pollock was an American painter and a major figure in the Abstract Expressionist movement. He pioneered "action painting," a technique where paint is spontaneously dripped, splashed, or poured onto the canvas, creating dynamic and energetic compositions. His most famous works include "Autumn Rhythm (Number 30)" and "Blue Poles."
