Short Bio

Nellie Bly (born Elizabeth Jane Cochran) was a pioneering American journalist who broke ground with her investigative reporting. Famously, she went undercover to expose the deplorable conditions at a mental asylum and later completed a record-breaking trip around the world in 72 days, inspired by Jules Verne's fictional character. Bly paved the way for female journalists and championed social reforms.
