Jean Henri Gaston Giraud, better known by his pseudonyms Moebius and Gir, was a French artist, cartoonist, and writer born on May 8, 1938, and passed away on March 10, 2012. He worked within the Franco-Belgian bandes dessinées (BD) tradition, achieving worldwide acclaim, particularly under the name Moebius for his fantasy and science-fiction work.

Giraud's highly influential art and storytelling styles spanned a wide range of genres and mediums, making him a legendary figure in the world of graphic novels and beyond. His legacy includes co-creating the Western comic series "Blueberry" and contributing to the visual development of iconic films.
